Sega unveils a new Sonic game?

So Sega announced very recently that they were to start development on a new Sonic game and TV show both aptly named Sonic Boom. What are my thoughts? Well, after the success of the last two Sonic games I think Sega are on a bit of a roll and this game should do well. Who did they get to produce the game for them? A studio by the name of Big Red Button Studios. Wait who are they? Well it turns out that they are Ex-Naughty Dog developers, and if you know Naughty Dog then you know that they can do platformers really well, just take a look at the Jak and Daxter franchise.

The show is looking to have some promise as well, with the teaser trailer being pretty awesome. However there is a bit of controversy around the character designs, particularly Knuckles. In the past Knuckles has been a lanky sort of bloke with massive fists that would just fuck shit up. Now he looks like an absolute beef cake who can really mess up your day. Sonic also has a bit of change in design, having bandages wrapped around his hands and a Nathan Drake style scarf.

All in all I have high hopes for the game being developed by Big Red Button Studios and the show has some promise. Links will be provided.
